Tips on Trendtation by B* a La Moda.
Hello everyone! Today's video is all about how to hide your belly.
LOOK #1
First tip: the wrap dress. This diagonal line goes across the whole body which disguises the stomach area and creates one continuous and elongated line. Another good thing about it is that it has this gathers right under the bust area. Any type of dress that has a seam that starts under the bust will hide any bulge well. This is because it gives the impression of volume at the stomach. However, it is not obvious whether its the cut of the dress or that there is a bit of a belly. This dress has a bow I will tie at the side to divert the attention away from the belly. The other advantage of this dress is it accentuates the breast area. If you have a bit of a belly it's always good to wear clothes that accentuate your best bits and divert attention away from it. Wearing clothes with prints like this floral one will act as camouflage. Its good to choose a very busy print. Its also a good idea to choose darker colours like the ones on this dress. I will wear this pink cardigan on top. Lighter colours on top will make the area underneath look thinner. Another benefit of this dress is it has an open V neck, which draws the attention to the chest rather than the stomach. It is import that the overall look has continuity from top to bottom. I'd like to show you these shoes that I bought yesterday. I love them! The heels I get keep getting higher and higher, pretty soon my husband will start looking really short!

Another type of dress that would work well is the 'Baby Doll' dress. Though this dress isn't exactly a Baby Doll dress. If you want a more tighter fitting look it's good to go for dresses with elastic at the hem like this one. This creates a shearing effect throughout the dress which makes you look slimmer. On top I'm wearing this fantastic blazer. Short blazers that finish right at the stomach are not the best choice. Though this is a short blazer it hangs down at the front and lengthens your figure, so its OK. Stripes always work well for any shape, particularly vertical stripes. In this case the vertical stripes make the look longer and vertical, disguising the belly. Finally this black and white bag with gold trim and these pointed tipped shoes. The gold tones match the dress.

Here's some advice about underwear. As you can't see it, it is only important that it is practical and helps hide your belly. Girdels are very good as they keep everything 'under control' and not wobbling around. Never underestimate the importance of choosing the right underwear. Leggings or Jeggings are not that good. It's better to go for straight cut pants that are not over decorated at the front area and are as loose as possible. This top has a good design as you can tie these cords together and it falls down over the belly area. This disguises the stomach as you can't distinguish whether this is the belly or just part of the design of the top. In terms of materials, go for spandex rather than lycra or knits. Spandex adapts well to your shape without being to tight or loose. To divert attention there's nothing better than loading up with accessories. I'll wear some gold bracelets as I'll wear my favourite gold shoes. To avoid the point bending upwards with pointed shoes like this I put a little piece of toilet paper inside so it keeps its shape.
You've seen a few ideas there, though there are many more tricks that can help disguise your belly.
Till next time!
